When Kevin Zhang moved to Vancouver from England, he missed being able to shop at some of his favourite home décor shops. Thats why he decided to open Notting Hill SW1, a store that features various high-end products from the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Denmark, with Fiona and Yan. It carries furniture, home accessories, luxury toiletries and baby products, 90 per cent of which are exclusive to Notting Hill in Vancouver. Brands include Murchison-Hume, Natures Purest, Moulin Roty and Lene Bjerre, makers of this delightful frog lamp. The store is at 840 W. Hastings. Notting-Hill.ca

If your closets could use a little decluttering, writes Vancouver blogger Missy McIntosh, and you have any gently used coats, blankets, jeans, shoes, mitts, scarves or unused toiletries that you no longer need and want to give to a new home, please let us know. For the fourth year in a row, she and her friend Tacia Voicey are volunteering to collect donations for homeless youth and bring them to the Warm Clothing Drive for Convenant House. Theyll pick up your items right from your doorstep between now and Nov. 18 or you can drop them off at her office at Burrard and 7th. (Update: McIntosh's initiative is over for this year.)
