Hair and horses have long been an obsession of girls, and the popularity of My Little Pony in the 80s only cemented their bond. Real (and not-so-real) horses ceaselessly captivate onlookers with their luxurious manes, so a salon that evokes thoughts of pony-perfect hair? Whats not to love.

Pony Salon opened late last year in the heart of Gastown, and is home to a team of hand-selected and engaging stylists.

Take the affable Chris Martin, for example. The Maple Ridge import can hold a conversation and a hair dryer with the best of them, leaving you to glow out with your blow-out all around town.

According to Martin, a professional blow-out, taking a mere 45 minutes in the chair, can last up to four days.

The salon is now settled in its 100-year-old post-and-beam building (the former site of a modeling agency) at 73 E. Cordova, and, in a heartwarming touch, owner Kristy Davies father-in-law flew in from Sweden to install the counters himself.

Embodying the mantra of keep it simple, the salon specializes in only haircuts, colouring and styling, and staff frequently fly to Manhattan to train at Bumble and Bumbles House of Bumble.

Pony is offering limited-time-only $30 blow-outs. Call 604-620-9260 or head to PonySalon.com to book an appointment.
