Burdock & Co. is offering a special New Year’s Eve menu, with seatings at 6pm, 6:30pm, 8:30pm and 9pm. The two early seatings are $69 per person, while the late seatings are $99 per person. Uva Wine & Cocktail Bar is hosting a “Palm Springs New Year’s Fling” on NYE, with a three-course “clubhouse”-themed menu for $45 per person, starting at 7:15pm. Add cocktail pairings to your meal for an additional $20. After dinner, the party begins at 9:30pm, with entertainment including live music, champagne sabering and more. UvaVancouver.com

Meanwhile, next door from Uva, Cibo Trattoria will be offering two seatings for NYE dinner. Enjoy a four-course menu for $84 per person at 5pm, or a six-course menu for $124 per person at 8:30pm. Provence Marinaside’s special NYE menu takes place amidst sparkling champagne, gold décor and ice sculptures. The à la carte menu includes favourites like crab-and-lobster bamboo rice, whole Atlantic lobster, Lois Lake steelhead with black truffle, foie gras with ice-wine jelly, and half a dozen bubblies available by the glass or bottle. Wildebeest is greeting NYE with a special four-course menu, with seatings available throughout the evening. Dinner options include raw oysters with champagne-yuzu pearls, lobster salad, octopus karaage, heirloom-squash soup, parmesan risotto, duck breast, smoked sablefish, rib-eye, and dessert. Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company is offering a family NYE celebration at its Kitsilano and Main Street locations. Each event features dinner plus entertainment for kids, including face painting, balloon twisting, pizza making, and an early New Year’s Eve countdown, as well as a two-course dinner for adults. On Monday, Jan. 16, chefs Vikram Vij (Vij’s, Rangoli, My Shanti) and Stefan Hartmann (Bauhaus) will team up for a special evening of German and Indian cuisine at My Shanti in South Surrey. The pairing will see chef Vij returning to his European roots (he lived and worked in Germany for a time) and chef Hartmann revisiting the Indian dishes he created for Berlin’s large Indian community before moving to Vancouver.
