As if the Khatsahlano Street Party wasn’t already big enough, Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) has joined the festivities with two fashion shows.
The two shows will happen at 1pm and 5:30pm this Saturday (July 12), which will be a teaser for their upcoming Spring/Summer 2015 season Fashion Week, which takes place from Sept. 15 to 21, 2014.
VFW will also have its own booth and media wall as well as their emerging VFWstreetstyle scouts and photographers hunting on the streets of West 4th for exciting new trends worn by Khatsahlano’s attendees. VFWstreetstyle scouts will be giving out 200 Vancouver Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 season show passes and day passes to the most fashionable attendees.
The street party will kick off the West 4th Business Association’s partnership with VFW making the west side neighbourhood the “Official Dining and Shopping Neighbourhood of Vancouver Fashion Week.”
Khatsalano is Vancouver’s biggest free music and arts festival. This year, ‘70s folk-pop legend Susan Jacks (“Which Way You Goin’ Billy”) will perform alongside members of Destroyer, Black Mountain, and the New Pornographers, while punk rock provocateur Jim Cummins (I, Braineater) will be backed up by a band of cartoon monsters.
Last year’s festival saw over 118,000 people swarm West 4th to experience the one-day-only music, shopping, food, and art event that spans the 10 city blocks between Burrard and MacDonald.
