Savannah Wellman of SAVVIE

“I think one of the most creative local beers I've had is the Parallel 49 Watermelon Seedspitter Wit Bier! It's such a nice refreshing summer patio drink.”

Aaron Ross of the Boom Booms

“My favourite local brew is the brand new – actually not officially launched but I got to sneak pre-brew it – is the Parkside Dawn Pilsner. It’s got the right flavour and amount of hops that I like. And there’s a bit of melon and lemon that makes it oh-so-crushable on a summer day.”

Scotty Vigue of Disco Funeral

“I like everything Whistler comes out with, especially their Grapefruit Ale. It’s sweet without being too sweet. It’s got a bit of a tart to it. Parallel 49 is a great company, too: they do a lot of great stuff in the community. I love the Jerkface 9000.”

Adam Leggett of Dakota Pearl

“I love the Stanley Park Pilsner. Every time I go to a restaurant and I’m ordering a beer, that’s the one. It’s simply fucking delicious. We have this awesome place called Mile One [Eating House] in Pemberton, and it’s a great place to try out new and different beers. My wife and I got the Stanley Park Pilsner and we’ve loved it ever since.”

Ryan Clare of the Brass Action

“I drink a lot of Parallel 49, but our jam space is close to Strange Fellows. They have tons of variety; they like to do a lot of the sours and stuff. The Nocturnum, the dark IPA, is one of the best. They had a really good beer called Goldilocks that was 9.5 per cent but tasted like a 5.0 per cent. During the summer they usually have two or three different types of sours or some fruity beers, and they do it justice.”
