Anton yet to arrive at NPA headquarters

Affleck, Ball appear headed for council

The mood remains optimistic at the NPA gathering at Hotel Vancouver at 9:30 p.m. despite Gregor Robertson and his Vision Vancouver team being in the lead. NPA school board hopeful Fraser Ballantyne said he was nervous but excited. Win or lose he said, "I feel I'm a better person for doing this."

Suzanne Anton is said to be somewhere in the hotel but has not made an appearance yet. NPA council candidate George Affleck arrived early with his family and said he was confident.

Elizabeth Ball arrived just after 9:30 p.m. and currently places seventh for 10 spots on council. She called the 2011 campaign a "roller coaster."

"I'm very excited and interested to see how things are moving ahead," she said, but wouldn't predict the outcome.

"One never knows, does one? It's a wonderful honour to be able to serve. If it happens, I'll look forward to serving the community."
