One person is in Delta police custody following an armed robbery in Ladner Monday morning.
Police are in the preliminary stages of its investigation, but the Optimist has confirmed that following the robbery, the suspect vehicle made its way to the Surrey area where the driver of the vehicle allegedly drove through a red light at 68th and 128th and was then involved in a three-vehicle accident around noon.
“Apparently the suspect vehicle struck a civilian car,” said DPD public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf in an email to the Optimist. “The driver and passenger in the civilian car received minor injuries. One person has now been arrested in relation to these events and Delta police have recovered some property from the Ladner armed robbery.”
DPD expects to release more details Tuesday morning.
