Closures
Starbuckson the south side of Robson and Thurlow has closed its door. Their lease will not be renewed. Triple Os White Spotin the same location has also closed for the same reason. Betsey Johnsonon Alberni is also closing in less than 10 days. They are selling everything: clothing, shelves, displays, etc.

FlyOver Canada
A new major destination attraction is opening in the Spring of 2013. Guests will soar coast to coast acrossCanadain groups of 60 at a time on a breathtaking aerial journey, experiencing the excitement and grandeur of our great nation through the latest in virtual flight ride technology. FlyOverCanadawill be developed, owned and operated by Soaring Attractions LP, a partnership involving two experiencedVancouvertourism entrepreneurs, Stephen Geddes and Andrew Strang, and the Aquilini Investment Group owners of the Vancouver Canucks. Redevelopment of the theatre space (formerly home to the IMAX) at Canada Place began June 5.

Informed dining
The BC government has a new health initiative called Informed Dining. It is a voluntary nutrition information program for restaurants in BC.Participating restaurants provide their customers with nutrition information for all standard menu items upon request before or at the point of ordering in the restaurant.
