Canada's longest-running TV drama is marking its 40th anniversary this year with a new book. Bruno and the Beach: The Beachcombers at 40 was written by series co-creator Marc Strange and actor Jackson Davies, who played Const. John Constable on the series filmed between 1972 and 1990 on the Sunshine Coast.

Davies will be read from the book and talk about his time working on the show at a free book launch beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 23) at CBC's Studio 700, 700 Hamilton St. Admission is free. Visit harbourpub-lishing for more information.
