WE Vancouver's office is on Burrard Street, above the Lexus dealership. At first we joked that this pair of Canada geese got so tired from their spring migration back to Vancouver that they were considering a luxury car option for the trip back to warmer climes.
But then it was discovered that the geese had laid five eggs at the edge of the dealership's second-storey outdoor parking garage! One minds the nest while the other forages for food.
Workers in the area have been feeding the geese during their nesting but after the eggs hatch and it's time to first fly the coop, how on earth will the chicks get to street level? The parking elevator? Never mind that, the chicks will certainly be traffic-stoppers once they're out and about. Or at least we can hope the cars will stop in time....
