Winter weather has certainly hit Richmond, after the city has been under a snowfall warning since Sunday, bringing several centimetres of flakes.
In response, Vancouver International Airport says its working to clear snow and avoid delays for travelers.
“Maintaining a safe and secure airfield for aircraft and passengers is the focus of everything we do at YVR,” said a YVR spokesperson by email. “We appreciate the patience of all passengers as our crews work to get aircraft on their way as quickly and safely as possible during today’s weather conditions.”
Light snow is still falling at YVR and operations are still running safely and smoothly. Make sure you check the status of your flight before coming to the airport and give yourself plenty of time to get here, check-in and clear security. pic.twitter.com/alfpwPpXiC

However, snowfall has delayed some employees from getting to the airport, which has mostly affected security screenings and some flights have been delayed or cancelled.

YVR recommends that travelers check with their airlines for possible changes in flight times before heading to the airport and to leave extra early whether driving or on the Canada Line.
If you are travelling out of YVR today, please make sure you check the status of your flight before coming to the airport. We also recommend that you give yourself plenty of extra time to get to the airport safely, check-in and clear security. #SnowDay
