One step closer to SkyTrain fare gates

Monday, Aug. 13 at 2:30pm marked the installation of the first TransLink fare gate at the Marine Drive SkyTrain station at Cambie. The fare gate is in place but not operational until all 245 fare gates are installed. Installation will be complete by 2013, leading to the introduction of the pre-loaded Compass transit cards. West Coast accommodations earn high national ranking

Wow! Four Vancouver hotels have made it to Travel + Leisure magazines list of the Top 10 Hotels in Canada. Congratulations to Shangri-La Hotel (#3), Four Seasons Hotel (#6), Wedgewood Hotel and Spa (#9) and Fairmont Hotel (#10). Vancouver was also voted best Canadian city by the very same readers.

Learn about the citys diverse and unique history, and explore its rapidly changing urban landscape.
