Cyclist in critical condition after night-time collision in Mount Pleasant

On Monday night, a 62-year-old man collided with his cycling partner near the traffic light on Seventh Avenue after he failed to stop in time.

A 62-year-old Vancouver man is in critical condition after colliding with another cyclist Monday evening.

A news release from the Vancouver Police Department notes the incident took place near the intersection of West Seventh Avenue and Yukon Street at around 9:45 p.m.

The man collided with his cycling partner near the traffic light on Seventh Avenue after he failed to stop in time. No vehicles were involved in the collision and neither rider was wearing a helmet.

Ambulance crews were on scene shortly after the collision, and both parties — including the 64-year-old female riding partner — were in hospital as of Tuesday morning.
