Vancouver police are investigating the city’s fourth traffic fatality of 2018.
Just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, first responders were call to Victoria Drive and Kingsway after an elderly man was struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk. The 82-year-old Vancouver man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, he later died.
Vancouver police collision investigators believe the man was crossing Kingsway, walking north in a marked crosswalk, when a car heading south on Victoria Drive made a left turn onto Kingsway and struck him.
The drive remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
This is the fourth traffic fatality, and the third pedestrian killed so far this year.
