Want your home to be more energy efficient? I know, I know, it's an expensive undertaking. But the City of Vancouver wants to help you out. The city has partnered with Vancity to provide low interest loans to homeowners (single-family and duplex) for energy efficiency renovations. Today (Friday, March 9), a workshop is being held at the Renfrew Community Centre, 2929 22nd Ave. East to explain the Home Energy Loan Program. The program allows applicants to apply for up to $16,000 in low-interest loans to improve your house's insulation, "weatherization," furnaces and boilers. There are also opportunities to access up to $4,700 in grants from the provincial LiveSmart B.C. program and up to $4,600 in grants from the federal ecoEnergy program. The forum runs from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. For more information, call 6043740507, or email energyloan@ vancouver.ca.
