Facebook and Instagram users may have noticed a few glitches on their accounts on Wednesday.
In fact, Facebook users around the world were reporting outages, including being unable to send messages or create new posts. For some, the entire website would not load at all and presented an error page.

Meanwhile, Instagram users noted that their profiles and feeds were not loading.

Facebook eventually took to Twitter stating it was aware of the issues and that it was working to resolve them as quickly as possible. The company did not explain what the cause of the outage was, but confirmed it was not due to a DDoS attack, or a hack where attackers overload a company's network.
