Thanks to the City of Vancouver’s new public Wi-Fi network, you’re never more than a few blocks away from free access to unlimited cat videos or your ex-girlfriend’s Facebook page.
Residents and visitors alike can now enjoy free public Wi-Fi access on their smartphone, tablet, laptop or tin can at six locations across the city, with service expanding in the coming months to an additional 37 sites.
The City of Vancouver teamed up with TELUS to install the public Wi-Fi hotspots so Vancouverites can download you-know-what whenever they want, and not blow their data load.
The first six locations to have free public Wi-Fi available are:
·Mount Pleasant Community Centre
·Champlain Heights Community Centre
·Coal Harbour Community Centre
·Roundhouse Community Centre
·Langara Golf Course Club House
·Fraserview Golf Course Club House
To connect to #VanWiFi at these locations:
1.Select the #VanWiFi network name from your device’s Wi-Fi settings menu.
2.Open your browser and you will be automatically re-directed to the #Wi-Fi terms and conditions page. Read and then click the button to accept the terms and conditions.
3. You will be re-directed to the #VanWiFi home page (vanwifi.vancouver.ca) and are then connected to the internet.
4. You are ready surf the web, and visit amazing websites like this one. What an amazing time we live in.
