Guilty plea in Coquitlam double murder

A Richmond man has plead guilty to a double murder that took place on Westwood Plateau in Coquitlam nearly four years ago.

On Monday, Feb. 4, Maurio Salehi pleaded guilty in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster to the second-degree murders of Iryna Gabalis, 56, and Dimitri Faktorovski.

On July 16, 2015, Coquitlam RCMP were called to a home on Alpine Lane. Inside the home they found the bodies of Gabalis, and Faktorovski, who had recently arrived in Canada.

Salehi had a previous relationship with the deceased women, reports said at the time.

Sentencing will take place in New Westminster on March 26, 27 and 28, according to the court registry.
