Officers located a man matching the description they had been provided, in a vehicle outside a business at the 1600 block of Fosters Way on Annacis Island.
“When police in both marked and unmarked vehicles entered the parking lot, blocking the exit, the driver allegedly drove toward police vehicles, then over a grassy embankment onto Foster’s Way,” said DPD public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf. “[RCMP helicopter] Air 1 was used to safely monitor the progress of the vehicle. Spike belts were also deployed by police to try and safely disable the vehicle.”
She said the vehicle stopped at Cliveden Avenue and Audley Blvd. At that time the Lower Mainland District Police Dog Services was used to help affect an arrest of two individuals, a man and a woman.
The woman faces a charge of breach of conditions in relation to a seperate incident.
