Environmental historian Sean Kheraj delves into the tensions and complicated relationships between history, expectation and nature in his new book about Stanley Park, released to coincide with the parks 125th anniversary.
Kheraj will also be a guest at the anniversary celebrations this weekend, speaking on August 25 at 3pm the Stanley Park Pavillion about how the park came to be one of Vancouvers jewels, and examining the natural and cultural forces that shape its landscape.
His book Inventing Stanley Park: An Environmental History, is available from UBC Press.
