Okay, Vancouverites, it’s time to dig deep — and not just with your snow shovels.
Snow, or the threat of snow, is in the forecast from now until Tuesday.
Any other year we’d be annoying our friends and families in other provinces with photos of blossoming trees and gardens right now. Instead, we’re the ones who are annoyed. We’ve already had at least 63 centimetres of snow this winter, more than previous years combined in recent memory. We’ve revealed a not-so-nice side of ourselves when we fought over bags of salt. We’ve coped with a spike in accidents in a city which expects snow to melt before something actually has to be done to remove it.
And now, Sunday, five more centimetres is predicted and we could have flurries until Tuesday.

It’s time to turn to all those inner resources we’ve been developing.
You know how in yoga you find your edge and breathe in and out to push it just a little bit more?
Or how in a marathon you have to make the mind run the body for those last few kilometers?
We can do it, Vancouver. We can get through this. Breath in, hold. Breath out, hold. Breath in…
