January was the fifth wettest on record for Vancouver, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Cindy Yu.

YVR airport recorded 249.4 millimetres of rain last month.

Meanwhile, the record was set in January 2006 when 283.6 millimetres of rain fell on Vancouver, in a month 168.4 millimetres is the norm.
