The holidays came early for the students at Norma Rose Point Elementary School.
Band and choir students performed their winter concert at the school on Dec. 18. Students in exploratory band performed first, while students in honours band (Grade 6-8) performed second. The audience was also treated to a violin and drums solo, as well as a ukulele number by teachers and staff.
The school is named after Musqueum First Nation member Norma Rose Point, a respected elder and teacher who died in 2012..
Norma Rose Point elementary replaced the former University Hill Secondary School on Acadia Road near UBC. The school consists of two building wings: kindergarten to Grade 5 and the other for Grades 6 to 8.
