Gas prices have reached a new high in Metro Vancouver and this time, it’s a North American record that was broken.
According to Dan McTeague, petroleum analyst with Gasbuddy.com, 169.9 per litre was the highest gas price seen in any North American major city.

Over the weekend, some Lower Mainland drivers even saw gas prices above 170 per litre.

On the flip side, in Richmond, gas prices as low as 145.9 per litre drew large crowds.

Currently, several Richmond gas stations are currently at the 169.9 rate. However, according to GasBuddy, some drivers may be able to fill up for as low as 162.9. Gas prices at various stations could continue to fluctuate throughout the day.
