A motorcyclist was left with serious injuries following a crash in East Vancouver Friday morning.
Just before 7 a.m., a Toyota Corolla was driving north along Clark Drive and made a left turn at Parker Street. A south-bound motorcyclist was riding in the curb lane and collided with the turning Toyota.
The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Corolla was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.
“We have to continually remind the public that road safety is a shared responsibility,” said Const. Jason Doucette. “We want to remind drivers that when making a turn it is very important to make sure the lane you are about to drive through is clear of other vehicles and cyclists. If you can’t see down the lane, assume someone’s coming your way.”
