Two men are facing second-degree murder charges relating to the 2016 death of Christopher Kwik.
Kwik's body was discovered in a Granville Street apartment near West Broadway on the night of Jan. 30, 2016. He was 40.
It was Vancouver's first murder of the year.
“Homicide investigations are complex and often require a lot of time to piece together,” says Vancouver Police Department Const. Jason Doucette in a press release. “These charges should send a clear message to those involved in serious crimes. Just because some time has passed, the police are still working to hold you accountable.”
Gage Edward McPake and Cody David Stuiver, both residents of Surrey, have each been charged with one count of second-degree murder. McPake was arrested in January and Stuiver was arrested on March 6.
Anyone with information about any criminal offence is encouraged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477.
