Hot on the heels of the successful first annual Summer Playland Festival comes the PNEs popular Summer Night Concerts Series, featuring an eclectic mix of country, rock and 80s pop. Additionally, the PNE has expanded its live music program and will introduce the first-ever WestJet Family Fun Series, an afternoon concert series featuring entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
The Summer Night Concerts will feature an all-star lineup of country musicians, pop stars and classic rock artists from around the world. Olivia Newton-John, who first wooed teenage boys around the world with her hit Lets Get Physical and her turn as Sandy from the movie Grease will bring her Australian charm to the Fair at the PNE for the first time. American rock band Heart, fan favourite Rick Springfield and Backstreet Boy member Nick Carter round out the list. HANSON, Colbie Caillat & Gavin DeGraw, Allstar Weekend and Our Lady Peace will perform new singles and classic favourites. Country fans wont be disappointed with Emerson Drive and Chad Brownlee rounding out the lineup. The Summer Night Concerts will run every evening from August 18 to Sep. 3 at 8pm on the WestJet Concert Stage.
The WestJet Family Fun Series kicks off August 22 and will take place every afternoon at 2pm on the WestJet Concert Stage. Victoria Duffields infectious top 40 hit Shut Up and Dance was recently nominated for an MMVA. Shell join a line-up that features Canadian pop-royalty Shawn Desman and his cousin Tyler Medeiros. Families and kids will enjoy performances by Austin & Ally stars with their band R5, Next Star Season 4 Winner Charlie and youth sensation Greyson Chance, childhood favourites Lamb Chop and the Doodlebops, people of all ages will be delighted by the family-friendly entertainment.
Entrance to the WestJet Family Fun Series and Summer Night Concerts is free with admission to the Fair.
