One man is in custody and two people are in hospital Tuesday after an early morning stabbing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
At around 5:30 a.m. police received a report of a disturbance in the area of Princess Avenue and Powell Street. Officers arrived to find two people, a 49-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, suffering from stab wounds.
“They were both rushed to hospital with serious, but what are believed to be, non-life-threatening injuries,” Const. Jason Doucette said in a press release.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man, was arrested nearby and charges are pending. The victims and the suspects all know each other.
