Police investigate possible double murder near Richmond school

Homicide investigators are probing a possible double murder in Richmond after RCMP officers found two bodies in an Eckersley Road residence early Sunday morning.

Police stated, via a news release, that they were dispatched to the 6600 block of Eckersley, near Cook elementary, after reports of gun fire. There, they found two dead victims. There are no initial details as to how they died but the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is expected to provide more information later today.

“The deaths do not appear to be random,” said Richmond RCMP.

“The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time pending this investigation.

“IHIT has been contacted and has taken conduct of this investigation. IHIT will be working with in close partnership with the Richmond RCMP.”
