Want to take Pride Week to the next level? Take a trip through Vancouvers Pride years with Cycle Citys inaugural Pride-themed bike tour.
This limited-time tour offers a rolling journey through 35 years of Vancouver LGBTTQ history, people, places and events that have shaped the city of Vancouver and created the Davie Village home to the largest gay population in Western Canada.
Expect secrets from Stanley Park, the evolution of pride in Vancouver, and stories from long-time residents. From terrorist bombings and hate crimes to world-renowned architecture, the Vancouver Pride Cycling Tour weaves a compelling rainbowed tapestry of stories about the West End neighbourhood.
Tour guide Matt Oliver also aims to answer the question, How did the Davie Village become the gayest and my most favourite place to live in the world? over the leisurely (and almost entirely flat) two-hour bike ride.
Tours are July 24 and 31 at 6 and 8pm, and August 2 and 3 at 4 and 6pm. The cost is $25 plus bike rental, and proceeds go to the Vancouver Pride Society. Head to CycleVancouver.com to book.
