Tunnel vision costly
What are Mayor Gregor Robertson and Coun. Geoff Meggs thinking with their obsession with building bicycle infrastructure when the city is already over its head in massive debt? The newest scheme is to construct an underwater bicycle tunnel beneath False Creek to resurface at Coopers Park, at an estimated cost of a mere $420 million! Vancouver already has bicycle lanes that are not highly utilized and now they come up with this moronic idea what is wrong with these people? As it is, more than a few cyclists can be found riding on the sidewalks and in pedestrian crosswalks, instead of being in the bicycle lanes where they belong and stopping at red traffic lights as the law calls for. There are far more important things that need attention before they waste $420 million on hare-brained schemes to satisfy a small segment of the population, who for the most part, use these lanes only when the sun shines.

Im reading Rant/Raves and this squirt gun revenge rant is actually very scary. This is a very angry person. You know this water gun thing, its almost psychotic, if you ask me. I think its scary when people write in like this and what I find not surprising is that he signed it as anonymous. If I knew anybody like that I would absolutely encourage them to go and see someone and talk about their issues because this person has a lot anger, and perhaps this person might like to think about getting some help. Open your eyes and wake up. This kind of anger is a very scary thing.

Patriotism defined
Form the tone of your rant on flag-waving = war, you are either young and confused or just plain stupid. Please take your own advice by reading some of that literature you boast about. Start with the dictionary where youll find the true meaning of patriotism. Throughout our history patriotism has never been the reason why there is war. Besides war being an intrinsic human trait, you must also think about religion since it has been, and will continue to be throughout history, a huge reason for bloodshed. And abolishing countries, borders, distinctive cultural traits, individualism, expressionism and every other freedom wont prevent it. All it does is lead to anarchy and anarchy is nothing but war. Heres something to always remember: intellect is a natural resource and not a by-product. Use it next time!
