Star-whacking

Take a hike Quaids! There are many in Canada who would gladly re-appropriate the houses and fortunes of the wealthy few. The so-called elite are nothing but egocentric, arrogant blowhards, who believe they actually deserve to grab so much wealth and resources for themselves (it is theft, aided by systemic economic injustice, no matter how you come by it). We dont need you.

Lamebrained attack on the bike lane

This rant is for the idiots who keep smashing glasses in the Dunsmuir corridor: one of these days someone is going to get hamstrung on your broken glass. Your broken glass and your broken beer bottles every weekend is just getting really tiresome. I dont know who you are a specific group, no doubt, that are psychologically challenged but this is a crime; this is endangering other peoples lives. Its not just a question of a few flat tires. Somebody is going to have a really tragic accident there. What is in your bloody mind? Do you think you are going to retard the future by your actions? Are you so hateful of somebody on a bicycle that you think nothing of having their feet sliced to pieces on broken glass? Do you think its funny smashing your glasses and beer bottles in our bicycle lanes? Finally, after all this time, the city has provided a bike path and now its full of broken glass every bloody weekend from stupid morons like you!

Puck the Nuks

I am not a hockey fan. I am definitely not a Canucks fan. I am tired of seeing the Go Canucks Go message on the transit buses. I am tired of seeing all the Canuck flags on vehicles. And to think that the Canucks had the audacity to win the last series now, I have to put up with the nonsense of those messages and flags some more. ARRRRGGGGH! Beam me up Scotty, there is no intelligent life down here.

Poster pollution

While you wouldnt exactly know it from the weather, you can tell from the odd yard sale that spring is here! I know Im not alone in professing a love for yard sales and the chance they present for finding an amazing deal or two! I also know that Im not alone in professing a distaste for the number of posters that get left up throughout the West End long after the yard sales have come and gone. Yes, yard sales are great; theyre part of what makes the West End such a great place to live. But please be as enthusiastic in taking down your posters as you are in posting them in the first place. By the way, the same goes for posters for various community groups like WEN and WERA please help keep the West End spectacular by cleaning up after yourselves!

Give them shelter

I cannot believe that the B.C. government and city hall want to close the temporary shelters. How would one of them like it if the only home he/she has was suddenly taken away? I am baffled to understand why bike lanes are far more important than places for people to stay. If money can readily be found for bikes, why should money for the basic necessity of life be denied? I admire those who are protesting the closure of these shelters. There should be more of us up in arms because of this injustice. Come on people, speak up. Help those who cannot help themselves. Perhaps one day, its the very thing you or I will need. Theres one thing Ive observed in government leadership: There is a lot of academic intelligence but very little wisdom.
