If you still have an unused and unloved videocassette recorder gathering dust somewhere in your house, Rewind can help.

On Saturday (Jan. 5), the cable channel specializing in old films from the VCR's glory days is hosting an event at Pacific Centre Mall where the now-obsolete home theatre equipment can be dropped off to be properly recycled.

Rewind will also donate $25 to the World Wildlife Fund for each VCR and participants can enter into a draw for $2,000.

Similar events are also taking place in other major Canadian cities.
