The Roundhouse Turntable Plaza project has transformed the plaza into an outdoor public and visual arts/performance space for activities ranging from farmers markets, to concerts and festivals.
Designed to create an arts presentation and social gathering place in which to explore neighbourhood heritage, the project features a viewing platform, unique flexible seating, and a canopy-supporting crane with cables for lighting, banners, and stunning aerial performances.
Residents and media are invited to join Vancouver Park Board Chair Constance Barnes and other special guests at a celebration at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre to mark the opening of the Turntable Plaza, downtown Vancouvers newest outdoor public and community performance space.
When: Sunday, May 20
Time: Official opening ceremonies 1:00 p.m. 1:30 p.m.; community celebrations 12:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m.
