The driver of the car that police believe hit and injured a woman on Victoria Drive on Saturday night has turned himself in.
A 67-year-old Vancouver man has allegedly identified himself to police as the driver of the silver Volkswagen Jetta captured in a video of the incident. He came forward after police went to the media asking the driver to contact them and sharing a photo of the car.
Just before 7:30 p.m. on March 18, a 62-year-old woman was struck by a silver Volkswagen Jetta as she crossed Victoria Drive at Williams Street. The driver fled the scene and the woman was rushed to hospital, where she remains, with serious injuries. On Tuesday, police made a plea for the driver to come forward.
The driver has been released from custody and the investigation is ongoing. Police say no additional details are available at this time.
