Taiwanese fried chicken is large and in charge. These flattened deep-fried chicken pieces are huge, literally. Now one famous chain, Hot Star, has revealed where their two upcoming Metro Vancouver locations will be.

The beloved night market snack showcasing a juicy 30-cm wide fried chicken cutlet will be available soon in downtown Vancouver at 566 Granville Street and in Richmond at 1623-4791 McClelland Road.

Hot Star began in Taiwan back in 1992, and has slowly but surely been expanding their global empire in the following years. In 2015 they hit the Canadian market, but their expansion to B.C. has been anticipated for well over a year now.

The chain’s large fried chicken comes in several versions, including with your choice of seasonings, in a fiery Korean style, stuffed with cheese, or in a “crispy” coating. You can get fried chicken combos, as well as Taiwanese popcorn chicken bites. Sides include regular french fries, fried King Oyster mushrooms, or fried plum sweet potato wedges.

You can follow @hotstar_canada on Instagram for updates on their Vancouver-area locations.

Check out some shots of their chicken, including the signature “large” that’s as big as your head.
