On the evening of December 11, 2018, 18-year-old Jeevan Johal Saepan carjacked a driver in Surrey, caused a hit-and-run with a police vehicle in Burnaby, and then opened fire on another vehicle while driving in Coquitlam.
That’s according to a series of charges handed down by Coquitlam, Surrey and Burnaby RCMP on March 6.
Saepan was well-known to police before his pre-Chistmas crime spree. The Vancouver resident is facing six charges, including robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm, unlawfully discharging a firearm, and failure to stop after a collision.
“No one was hurt in this incident, but we appreciate that it could have been worse,” said Corporal Michael McLaughlin with Coquitlam RCMP, adding that RCMP believes the crime spree was an isolated incident.
Saepan will appear in a Port Coquitlam court on March 13.
