There are three words that many Canadians will enjoy saying next week – hockey is back.
With the start of the NHL season just around the bend, we thought we’d take a trip down memory lane.
Twitter Canada just released a look back at the last 12 months of hockey on Twitter, including the most talked about NHL moments and players.
But we thought we’d stick to mostly Vancouver Canucks highlights.
Here’s what had you talking on social media last season:
The most mentioned Vancouver Canucks moments on Twitter from Sept. 15, 2017 to Sept. 15, 2018 were:
1. April 5, 2018 - Considered by many to be the greatest players in the franchise’s history, twins Daniel and Henrik Sedin sent Twitter into meltdown when they each played their final NHL home game in Vancouver. Daniel scored an overtime winning goal as the Canucks defeated the Arizona Coyotes 4-3. After the game, posts flooded Twitter with the hashtag #ThankYouSedins
Here's some of the tributes:

Gonna miss the magic show the twins have been putting on for 17 years. Never seen anything like it. #ThankYouSedins

2. April 2, 2018 – The second most mentioned moment also goes to the Sedin brothers. It was a sad day for Vanocouverites when Daniel and Henrik announced their retirements.
Here's how fans responded:
First the @barenakedladies and @stevenpage reunite. Then the #Sedins announce their retirement.... I'm just in a really vulnerable state right now... #thankyouSedins #Canucks

What. A. Day.

1) I almost burned breakfast
2) Sedins announce retirement
3) I made dinner successfully
4) Watched a 11 year old taunt an 18 year old Korean kid with racist statements
5) Gave props to Korean kid for handling it in an amazingly mature manner
6) #HopeLives
I've figured out how to unite Canucks Twitter: have the Sedins unretire and then announce their retirement over and over again, forever.
