Vancouver police are investigating after a Sunday afternoon hit-and-run crash sent an elderly woman to hospital.
Just before 1 p.m. a 71-year-old woman was crossing SE Marine Drive at Victoria Drive in the crosswalk when she was struck by a west-bound silver-coloured minivan. Witnesses helped the woman and stayed with her until she was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the van did not stop and left the area. Based on information provided by witnesses at the scene, officer located what is believed to be the suspect vehicle parked and unoccupied in New Westminster.
The investigation and is ongoing and detectives from the VPD’s collision investigation unit as asking any witnesses, or anyone driving in the area around the time of the collision with dash-cam footage, to call 604-717-3012.
