After a rare snow day yesterday, Vancouver students will be heading back to class Thursday.

Vancouver School Board, as well as the University of B.C. and Simon Fraser University, all announced early this morning that classes are back in session today.

Significant snowfall overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday turned Vancouver into a winter wonderland – leading to school closures across the region, traffic turmoil and transit troubles, with both TransLink and the provincial government advising residents to avoid all but essential travel.

This morning, TransLink is warning customers that service might still be slower than usual.

And with some snowfall overnight and temperatures hovering around freezing, the city of Vancouver said this morning that crews are focusing on clearing major routes, and some roads with hills have been closed.
