If you’ve been pining away for a 10-foot Buddha statue, a comically oversized hamburger sculpture and/or that spaceship from Cats and Dogs 2, this is your dream come true! CanAm Importique, one of Vancouver’s largest prop houses, is closing its doors and going to auction this Thursday and Friday.

Able Auctions is hosting the massive two-day auction, which boasts over 800 lots of one-of-a-kind movie props that have been featured in Titanic, Night at the Museum, The X-Files and American Pie (including the enormous Buddha statue). We’re talking some zany props here, people: a giant purple elephant, life size animal replicas, casino props, all kinds of neon signs and – glory of all glories! – full horror movie sets.

The auctioneers will hold a public preview on Wednesday from 10am-4pm. The auction runs Thursday and Friday, starting at 10am.

CanAm Importique is shutting down for retirement after 38 years in the movie business. Owner Paul Pincott has supplied props for almost all the major movies and TV series that have been filmed in VancouverAccording to the press release, Pincott not only supplied props for 21 Jump Street, but also provided Johnny Depp with furniture for his rental apartment during his time filming the show in Vancouver.
