There was a whole lot of shaking going on at city hall thanks to a visit from the Quake Cottage mobile earthquake simulator Tuesday. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. members of the public were encouraged to take a seat in the spring-loaded portable container made to look like a tiny living room and experience what an earthquake might feel like. The goal of the free event, which was part of the city’s Emergency Preparedness Week, was to raise awareness about the earthquake risk in Vancouver and the need to be prepared.
