Mixed messages abounded Saturday as the Occupy Vancouver protest got underway at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Of the 4,000-plus who turned out for the anti-corporate movement sweeping cities across the globe, signs called for action around everything from homelessness to labour movements to a vague dissatisfaction with the status quo (left). With hundreds still camped out in the public square and vowing to stay put into December, time will tell if Occupy Vancouver will ultimately turn into something other than a photo op.
