Calling all Metro Vancouver wizards!

Quidditch, a sport sharing the same name as a fictional game featured in the larger-than-life Harry Potter series, is coming to an East Vancouver park this summer.

The Vancouver Quidditch League will host a series of matches at Trout Lake throughout the summer season, and they welcome players of all skill levels.

Eager to fly around on a magical broomstick as you chase an impossibly-speedy golden snitch around the pitch?

There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that’ll happen. However, the “muggle” version of the fictional sport still looks incredibly fun, especially if you are a die-hard Potter fan. The sport also involves a great deal of running, so it offers a fun way to get in shape with friends.

Organizers ask that you bring water bottles and cleats, but note that all other equipment will be provided.

The group plays in the North West corner of John Hendry Park.

Watch the video below for a quick description of the rules.
