To the editor:

Re: “‘Fair value’ for Arbutus Corridor at stake,” July 23.

Let me get this straight: The City of Vancouver wants to buy the Arbutus Corridor rail line for $20 million (CP wants $100 million) so that a few gardeners can continue squatting on what until now is private land.

Why would we want this amount of tax money going to support such an endeavour? These gardeners can use their own backyards or boulevards like everyone else does. Use our tax money wisely — there are far more pressing needs than garden plots.
