Re: “Mayor, councillors get pay raise,” Jan. 8
If I read your article correctly, Councillor Louis said that the average full-time employee in Vancouver earns $65,860.
The 2011 National Household Survey states that the median employment income in Vancouver was $49,842 and the median after tax family income was $69,271.
However, even these numbers may be skewed to the high side.
Perhaps Louis is looking at the city hall payroll? Let’s hope he has a better grasp of numbers when he reviews the operating budget.
