A 32-storey market residential tower and 12-storey office building over a four-storey podium are proposed for a block of land directly opposite Oakridge Centre.
Vivagrand Developments and IBI Group are behind the rezoning application for the project at 5812 to 5844 Cambie St., which was submitted under the Cambie Corridor plan.
If approved, it would produce 257 condo units, 106,342 square feet of office space, 11,599 square feet of retail space, a 37-space public childcare facility that’s 5,802 square feet and a 5,912-square-foot youth centre.
The site, located between West 42 and West 43rd Avenue, is within the Oakridge Municipal Town Centre – the area around West 41st Avenue and Cambie Street -- which is designated for increased heights, various types of housing, job space and amenities. It’s across from a Canada Line stop.

Numerous projects are in the works for the area around the mall, which is also being redeveloped. They include:
- an 18-storey market rental building with a four-storey podium at 441 to 475 West 42nd Avenue.
- a 10-storey mixed-use rental building at 357 to 475 West 41st Avenue
- a 22-storey and a 14-storey mixed-use building at 325 to 343 West 41st Avenue
- two highrise for a site at 5740 Cambie St. (a 14-storey market rental building and a 27-storey condo tower)
An open house about the rezoning proposal for 5812 to 5844 Cambie St. runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Feb. 5, 2020, at the Peretz Centre, 6184 Ash St.
