Bright Walk in White Rock will light up the Metro Vancouver town's Memorial Park with Christmas lights this holiday season.

Bright Walk in White Rock returns this December with a special event to celebrate the lighting of the Memorial Park Christmas tree.

The park, next to White Rock's popular beach, will be lit up Saturday, Dec. 2 with a tree lighting ceremony. As part of the event there'll be a Chirstmas Market at the White Rock Museum (adjacent to the park), singers, and "light-up performances,"  according to the city. The market will have more than 30 local vendors.

“The Bright Walk Lighting Ceremony is such a fun event. The moment we light the park is really special,” says White Rock Mayor Megan Knight in a press release. “We also have a ton of entertainment and activities planned. Photos with Santa, live entertainers, plus lots of programming for kids."

There'll also be a meet-and-greet with Santa and an "ice princess," free hot chocolate and games.

The event will run Dec. 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the park. The waterfront park will be lit up each night until Jan. 7.
