Everything that happened (and didn't happen) at Beyoncé's Vancouver concert

Celebrity sightings, mute challenge, silver fashion, and more.
Beyonce performed her "Renaissance" world tour at Vancouver's BC Place on Sept. 11. The show had a handful of surprises and highlights, like spotting Jay Z, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen in the crowd, as well as the mute challenge.

Queen B reigned over the stage at her Vancouver concert.

The much-anticipated arrival of Beyoncé's "Renaissance" world tour culminated in a star-studded silver-clad assembly at BC Place.

The "Lemonade" singer performed her final Canadian date in Vancouver last night (Sept. 11) after a trio of shows in L.A., making her way to Seattle next and wrapping up in Kansas City, xx, on Oct. 1.

Fans were in for a number of surprises at the Vancity concert, as well as a slight let down.

Jay Z, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen attend Beyoncé concert

Rapper Jay Z's private jet arrived at Vancouver International Airport on Monday from Los Angeles. He was spotted later that night at the concert along with John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

Beyoncé and Jay Z's daughter Rumi was also seen dancing along to "Virgos Groove" next to her dad. Meanwhile, the couple's eldest daughter Blue Ivy joined her mom as a dancer on stage, as she had done for previous shows.

Silver dress code

When it came to fashion, Vancouverites went above and beyond for Beyoncé.

To celebrate Virgo season, which reigns Aug. 23 to Sept. 22, Beyoncé asked fans on Instagram to wear silver for shows between those dates, which included her birthday performance on Sept. 4.

"We'll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night," she wrote in an Instagram story back in August. "Everybody mirroring each other's joy. Virgo season together in the house of chrome."

A shimmering human disco ball it was.

One local influencer documented the best looks at the concert, which featured bedazzled cowboy hats, chrome cowboy boots, giant handheld fans, sequined statement pieces, shiny metallics, and even a jacket that read "Vancity be quiet on mute" on the back.

Vancouver on mute

The "Renaissance" tour is making waves on the internet thanks to the "mute" challenge.

The challenge involves the crowd going silent on the word "mute" in the song "Energy."

When Beyonce sings, "Look around, everybody on mute," everyone must go quiet until Beyoncé starts to sing again.

However, not every crowd can do this. Did Vancouver succeed?

Some say that the audience had a strong start, but the silence was cut short by an excited fan in the C7 section of the venue. So the mute didn't actually happen.

Vancouver sings "Love on Top"

The crowd showed Beyoncé some love by singing her a song, bursting out into the chorus of "Love on Top" as Beyoncé paused between songs.
