Canada Place will transform into a winter wonderland, complete with everything from an avenue of Christmas trees to a festive, 15-foot illuminated moose figure.
Christmas at Canada Place kicks off on Dec. 1, 2023, and runs through the holidays until Jan. 2, 2024, inviting guests of all ages to enjoy the seasonal displays at the free event along the Vancouver waterfront.
Hosted by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, the event offers several intricate holiday light displays.
Canada’s North Light Display: The North Point of Canada Place has a selection of wintry light displays and a 15-foot illuminated moose figure named “Chrismoose."
Woodward’s Windows: Enjoy a festive stroll along the west promenade of Canada Place to enjoy this "treasured part of Vancouver’s history." Over the holiday season, the window displays pay homage to bygone eras, featuring "Victorian era holiday scenes with animatronic characters and elaborate decor" that were featured in the Woodward's Department Store.
Avenue of Trees: The Canadian Trail along the west outdoor promenade at Canada Place will transform into a winter wonderland, including several beautifully decorated holiday trees and plenty of twinkling lights.
Sails of Light at Canada Place: The trademark white sails at Canada Place will take on festive hues, such as red and green, over the holidays. The vibrant display takes place daily at dusk.
“Christmas at Canada Place has become a special tradition each year for so many of us across the Lower Mainland,” said Jennifer Natland, Canada Place Corporation president and vice president of real estate at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
The event welcomes visitors every day over the holiday season, including on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
